I like a lot of things about the Nexo-Knights theme and it’s turned out some great sets. The last wave of sets were a bit of a turn off for me, with nearly every set using large, hard plastic wheels (some of my least favorite elements). Pictures of the more recent sets have brought me back. Continue reading 72004 Tech Wizard Showdown

70610 Flying Jelly Sub
The marine themed vehicles in the LEGO® Ninjago Movie are pretty fantastic. Unfortunately for me, a number of them were exclusive to retailers that I don’t usually patronize. So here I am finally breaking into this 70610 Flying Jelly Sub. Continue reading 70610 Flying Jelly Sub
40263 Christmas Town Square
Of course, I couldn’t review just one of the two seasonal Christmas sets. The first one (40262 Christmas Train Ride) was pretty good, but this one looks even better. The parts count alone is enough for me to pull the trigger, but let’s take a look. Continue reading 40263 Christmas Town Square
40262 Christmas Train Ride
It’s hard for me to resist the seasonal sets that LEGO® puts out. Though I’m not much of a Christmas celebrator myself, I couldn’t pass up the pair of vignettes that they released for the holiday. This week, we’ll tear into the first one (based on set number): 40262 Christmas Train Ride. Continue reading 40262 Christmas Train Ride
41486 Captain Phasma
I’ve been a bit conflicted about the BrickHeadz line and they seem to be rather polarizing in the AFOL community. Some of their designs really work for me, I fell in love with this Captain Phasma model the moment I saw it. Then it was just a matter of getting my hands on the set and seeing if it lived up to the pictures. Continue reading 41486 Captain Phasma
40261 Thanksgiving Harvest
I was at my local LEGO® store this last weekend for a birthday party and I spied stacks of seasonal sets. I’d already missed the Halloween set, so I wasn’t going to leave without at least one of each. Lets start out with this years Thanksgiving set.
70620 Ninjago City (part 3: The High-Rise)
Only a few bags of elements remain. The two layers of Ninjago City that I’ve already built (The Old World & The Street) are already a massive structure with a plethora of colors and details. It was time to dig in and build out the final heights! Continue reading 70620 Ninjago City (part 3: The High-Rise)
70620 Ninjago City (part 2: The Street)
The lowest level of 70620 Ninjago City behind me, it’s time to get started on The Street. This set is already shaping up to be one of my all time favorites, with a great mix of elements, techniques, and minifigs. I’ve barely even gotten into the good stuff yet! Continue reading 70620 Ninjago City (part 2: The Street)
70620 Ninjago City (part 1: The Old World)
My set buying is mostly focused on interesting elements and I’d often prefer to buy a bunch of small sets. This wave of Ninjago Movie sets has me building sets just for display and the cream of the crop is the massive 70620 Ninjago City. I cleared out my VIP point balance and ordered one as soon as I could. Continue reading 70620 Ninjago City (part 1: The Old World)
70608 Master Falls
I’m always on the lookout for good draft sets and the LEGO® Ninjago movies sets have a lot to choose from. This set caught my eye with the great selection of colors and elements. Also, the bare-chested jungle Garmadon is too good to pass up! Continue reading 70608 Master Falls
