Here I am finishing out my reviews of the Series 5 Mixels with the Klinkers. These steampunk goofballs really caught my eye when I first saw them a couple of months ago. It doesn’t take much to see their potential as parts packs for a number of fun pearl metallic elements and other accoutrements.

I’m fascinated by Lego architecture, as a specific extension of my love of architecture in general. Building with bricks (mostly plates actually) lets me express those desires without the lengthy schooling that it would take to actually become an architect. This has me building Micropolis modules.
Frosticons (Mixels: series 5)
I’m enjoying the fact that Lego is revisiting some of the earlier tribes in this year’s Mixels. I can’t say that the Frosticons were one of my favorite tribes the first time around, but I am enjoying this new trio of blue monsters. Continue reading Frosticons (Mixels: series 5)
Lixers (Mixels)
This last weekend I found all of the new Series 5 Mixels at my local Lego store. It was an easy decision to grab one of each (and quite a few of the older Mixels that were marked half-off). I’m always looking forward to new Mixels, but these Lixers, with their bright shades of yellow and orange looked like a lot of fun. Who doesn’t like little monsters with big tongues?
40154 Pencil Pot
This charming little set caught my eye on a recent visit to the Lego store. I’m always on the lookout for parts packs, and this one looked to have a nice mix of ‘city’ elements and a good price per piece ratio. Continue reading 40154 Pencil Pot

I really like this evolution of lisqr‘s massive micro city.
Infernites (Series 4 Mixels)
They aren’t new anymore, but I just picked mine up recently, so I figured that I should talk about the second incarnation of the Infernites. If you’re like me, you might have written off this trio as a rehash, but don’t be so quick to dismiss. Continue reading Infernites (Series 4 Mixels)

41073 Naida’s Epic Adventure Ship
It’s no secret that I’m kind of in love with this Elves theme. Though I’m not the target audience, these colorful fantasy sets are well designed and have tons of beautiful elements. I’m not alone on this one. It seems like most of the AFOLs that I know are talking about this theme and drooling over some element or another. Since this is the set that we will be drafting at the next PortLUG meeting, I figured that it was high time that I reviewed Naida’s Epic Adventure Ship.
