After last week’s community gardens, I decided that it was time to add some apartment dwellers. A lot of older cities have small apartment buildings in their neighborhoods, especially on the edges of commercial zones.

I built these apartments rather squat, imagining old, thick masonry. I went for plates in various shades of brown to imply the brick. The building has a courtyard in the center that brings light in and protects the entrances from the elements.

This building is filling the entire space available (to the point where the windows actually stick out over the edge by a half-plate). There is also a slight variation in the windows from floor to floor.

In the plan view, we can see the little courtyard, with some shrubs in the corners.

Next week I’ll keep expanding the block with some more houses!
Keep building and enjoy!
